Information can save lives. We work with community health workers from the Olive Branch in rural Tanzania to deliver life-saving information about HIV transmission, prevention and treatment to vulnerable women who sell sex for money. Additionally, we persuade brothel and bar owners to allow us to install and stock condom dispensers on-site, and to engage male patrons in conversations about sexual health and healthy relationships.
AguaSalud, PfID's public health program in Peru, has delivered workshops in water-related hygiene and sanitation to hundreds of kindergarten, primary, and secondary students since its launch in 2014. Informed by community members and executed in collaboration with local nursing students, this program aims to decrease the prevalence of gastrointestinal disease among children by improving water-related behaviour through public health education.
